Who checks the claims

Checks on Therealitycheckroom are researched and written by a small content team and published under one byline, so readers always know whose standards a piece answers to.

That byline is Elliot Mercer. Elliot is a disclosed editorial pen name, not a real individual with a hidden identity, and we say so on every author page. What stays consistent is the method: the claim quoted exactly, the original source found, the evidence read directly, the missing context named and a verdict from a fixed list.

If you think a check got something wrong, the writer behind it wants to hear about it. Corrections go through our contact page, and you can read how we work on the about page.
