Under Review
This is where finished checks land. Each piece takes one claim, or a cluster of related ones, and runs it through the same five steps: the exact claim, its original source, the evidence, the context that went missing, and a verdict.
Most of what you’ll read here is written by Elliot Mercer, our claims-analysis writer. He covers viral posts, statistics, consumer and legal myths, scams and the gap between what a source says and what the internet says it says. Expect verdicts like partly true and missing context more often than a clean true or false. That’s not hedging. It’s what most claims look like once you read the original.
