Privacy policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026

This policy explains what information Therealitycheckroom (therealitycheckroom.com) collects, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can and we don’t sell personal information.

Information we collect

  • Information you give us. If you use our contact form or newsletter signup, we receive what you enter, such as your name, email address and message.
  • Usage information. Like most sites, our server and analytics tools record basic technical data: pages viewed, referring pages, browser type, device type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and time of visit.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use them to understand how the site is used and to serve and measure advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though some measurement and ad features won’t.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are read and how people find us. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes data under Google’s own privacy terms. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on for disabling Analytics.

Advertising

Ads are delivered through Revive Adserver (servedby.revive-adserver.net). The ad server and advertisers whose creatives it shows may set cookies or use similar technologies to deliver ads, limit how often you see the same one, and measure results. We don’t give advertisers your name or email address.

Newsletter and contact forms

Our newsletter form is provided by a third-party form and CRM service (Sphere CRM, at link.sphere-crm.com). Information you submit there is stored by that provider so we can send you email. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.

Headlines from other sites

Some pages show headlines from other fact-checking publishers. Our own server fetches those headlines, so viewing them doesn’t send your data to those publishers. Clicking one takes you to their site, which has its own privacy policy.

Third-party links

We link to sources, government sites and other publications. We’re not responsible for their privacy practices, so read their policies when you visit.

How long we keep information

We keep contact messages only as long as needed to respond and keep a record of corrections. Newsletter data stays until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Analytics data follows the retention settings of the tools above.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of the European Economic Area and the UK have these rights under the GDPR. California residents have rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and to request deletion. We don’t sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. To make a request, contact us and we’ll respond within the time the law requires.

Children

This site isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy we’ll update the date above. Questions or requests go through our contact page.
